Multiscale Microstructure Analaysis Laboratory

Welcome to the Tae-Hoon Kim research group at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Chonnam National University.

The focus of our group is to elucidate correlations between microstructures and properties of materials. From macro to micro to nano to atomic-scale microstuctural analysis provides insight to understand underlying mechanisms of materials processes and phase transitions. Especially, we utilize scanning / transmission electron microscope (SEM / TEM) for multiscale materials characterization.


Our research interest is...

  • Developing high perfomance permanent magnet (rare earth Nd-Fe-B, Iron nitride: Fe16N2)

  • The behavior of magnetic skyrmion for future spintronics application

  • In-situ electron microscopy & Atomic-scale material characterization

  • Interfacial reaction in battery materials (electrolyte/electrodes)

  • Nano & 2D materials synthesis & Analysis
